Wow I just noticed I hadnāt posted a note since March, what the hell was I thinking? Or not thinking?
Let me say Iām glad the Times Square terrorist plot failed. Iām even more happy to report that neither Obama nor anyone in his administration has been running around saying they āfoiled a plotā that always sounded so cartoonish to me. I hope they donāt ban vans, fireworks, gasoline or anything else involved in this idiots plan as part of the āwar on terrorā. Then again , Obama is a socialist terror loving Muslim Kenyan so I guess he wouldnāt get involved here.
Speaking of not getting involved. Iāve actually read where some right wingers compare Obama and the oil spill in the gulf to Bush and Katrina. They say Obama is getting a pass.
No, its not the tea party, they like spilling brown liquids in harbors, its Michael Brown, of āgreat job Brownieā fame, guess heās permanently off the horse show circuit and heās upset.
Just so weāre clear Brownie, a BP oil spill or (drilling accident depending on how you look at it)is the same as a hurricane destroying New Orleans, okā¦
A disaster caused by a private company is the same as one caused by nature . You see Brownie when we say natural disaster, it means nature caused it. The head of FEMA should know that, 6th graders do.
Now some say Katrina was man made, well actually Pat Robertson says it was made by gay men. Thatās great Pat because Hojatoleslam Kazim Sadeghi one of them radical Muslim clerics says earthquakes are caused by women dessing immodestly.

So good to know the right wing and the muslim extremists are finally getting along.
Finally Brownie, I donāt think Obama sending in the coast guard right away to see whatās going on is the same as Bush flying by watching dead bodies float around.
is exactly the same thing.
Great job Brownie, good to see you using the fair and balanced media to get the truth out

Loved the White House correspondent dinner. Obama seems to have a sense of humor about himself and others. My favorite moment was when he called Michael Steele ābrotherā I would have loved to see the look on Steeleās face. Steele forgot he was black until he spent republican money on lesbian strippers. They reminded him pretty quick he screwed up and of course he said they were picking on the black man.

Oh and if you really want to talk about presidents with a sense of humor Bush is writing a book

Iāll withhold comment. Fill in your own joke using any of the following words, fiction, coloring book, read one then write one, unfuckinbelievable etc.

“As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities”
Voltaire
I just left the Underground Railroad Freedom Center in downtown Cincinnati.
http://www.freedomcenter.org/
They have is an actual slave pen. This is where slaves were housed by traders within the United States. The exhibit explained the slave trade. There are records from a traders including prices, inventory, trade strategies etc. That’s right, my people were just goods to be traded. It’s one thing to read it. Its entirely different to feel it.
I walked into a slave pen. Thats right , it wasn’t called a house or a shelter or a hut, it was called a pen, just like a pig pen and just like a pig pen it was used to house livestock.
It was almost too real.
I felt the pain I imagined felt by those forced to live there.
I felt anger at our history and the fact this existed so long and for so many.
I felt pride that we as a people survived and have since prospered beyond imagination, all the way to the white house.
I felt sadness at the fact there were knuckleheads not 2 blocks away with pants sagging calling each other nigger like all that pain and sacrifice was for nothing.
To say that being owned and treated this way for hundreds of years couldn’t affect the collective psyche of people is ridiculous. Its an absurdity.
It felt good to see the white people who helped slaves find freedom. A reminder no one type of people is all bad.
The pen had a feeling to it. I’m not one to believe in ghosts but I will say i felt its spirit.
They are displaying a photo exhibit about lynching in America along with their usually exhibits. I learned so much about a brutal part of my nations past. Yes, I say my nation I claim the USA and still love the USA I just wish we as a a nation could learn from our past.
I learned not all lynchings were of black people. There were white people , Jews, Indians anyone the mob felt deserved “justice”.
Of course the overwhelming majority of lynchings were black people in the south but there were lynchings in every state in the union.
Over 4000 people lynched between the 1890’s and 1960’s, so sad.
To look at pictures of lynching and lynch mobs is staggering. There were families, men women and children who would gather together and cheer murder. There were barbecues, where they wold burn the body and everyone would celebrate and tear up the body to bring home souvenirs.
There were also stories of courage , where one lawman or in one case a tiny girl with her fathers gun stood up for what’s right and the mob quickly disappeared for above all a lynch mob was and is a bunch of cowards.
Yesterday’s lynch mob is todays “tea party” a mob driven by hate and finding courage in numbers. A mob that denies reason or truth because, well because it just feels right to put that black boy in his place and get our country back.
I only wish Glen Beck or Ice Cube’s old group” Da Lynch Mob” could see these pics and read these stories. Maybe then they wouldn’t be so proud of themselves and would see the ignorance of their words.
Sorry Glen the Tea Party is a bunch of hateful cowards and Cube, da lynch mob ain’t cool.
I’m not saying there should be reparations, I’m not looking for a check. No one owes me anything and I love my country.
I’m just saying I’d love to see we’ve learned something.
I wish certain white people could see that this is real and its our past so no, it won’t just go away.
Acknowledge a legacy admission is the same as affirmative action. How can blacks have legacy admission when it was illegal for grandparents or great grandparents to read.
Acknowledge that if you believe blacks are as smart as whites then without slavery or racism there could be a black Hilton or Rockefeller family.
Acknowledge that even though we have elected a black president , we still have along way to go.
I recently had a friend, a white friend, send me one of those chain emails about how we are all Americans, not African Americans or Italian Americans or Mexican Americans. Says he never discriminated against anyone nor owned slaves etc. This was followed by the usual rhetoric about everyone speaking english and justifications for hate and racism toward latinos. Its funny, I never heard anyone going into Chinatown in any city I’ve ever been in yelling speak english or leave. Maybe the foods better in Chinatown so they can stay.
I wonder if he’d feel the same after walking into a slave pen?
Of course these are just some of my personal reflections. One of the great things about the museum are the places designed to sit and reflect and draw your own conclusions.
Truly an amazing place. My deepest thanks to those that made it happen and keep it going

Its a shame the health care debate isn’t about health care but simply about who’d going to win. Liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican.
There are about 30 million people who might think otherwise but screw them. This is bigger than them, this is re election in 2010.
Once again the dems have laid down in the fight. Giving up on issues like abortion or the public option. Its great to fight a democrat, you don’t even have to fight to get them to give up, just ask. “Yes I know abortion is one of the core tenets of the party platform but if you say Jesus don’t like it , we’ll back down. Oh and we dems will be happy to fight each other while you repubs organize to vote no on anything we propose. Glad we could help.”
“Will this health care bill include spinal insertion because we could use one?”
The republicans are outraged by the tax increases. Yes, the plan would increase medicare tax by .1 percent on income over 200,000 a year. Now I know many of the members of the tea party are pulling down over 200 grand a year and this tax would cost them 200 bucks. I can see why they are outraged. I mean what if you make a million bucks a year, now you gotta kick in 1000 bucks to help people get health insurance???? Jesus would never go for that.
Of course they say we should just let people buy insurance in other states where its cheaper. Yes, that makes sense. I mean insurance is cheaper in Pennsylvania than New York so if a few million New Yorkers decided to buy insurance in Pennsylvania, the insurance companies wouldn’t raise the rates in Pa. They’d keep them nice and low and accept those New Yorkers with open arms. Thats how the free market works. Its on your side.
So let’s be clear this has nothing to do with insuring the masses. This is about who will win.
The great thing about this fight.? Both sides are being funded by insurance and drug companies.
I think they’ve already won

Damn liberals Its about time someone straightened out the textbooks and who better than those geniuses from Texas
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/13/education/13texas.html
I mean ranking #49 in Verbal Sat and #46 in math, they should lead the nation toward a brighter future.
http://www.window.state.tx.us/comptrol/wwstand/wws0512ed/
They gave us George Bush. That right there should prove they know education.
Who needs to know about Thomas Jefferson or the civil rights movement? Its about time someone corrected history and told the truth about the war of northern aggression. Civil war my ass, damn yankees ruined good slavery.
Who needs Harvard or Yale any of that Yankee elitist crap. Well Bush did go there but he didn’t study or get good grades so it doesn’t count.
When you think book learnin you better think Texas!
Now let’s go up to Mass. and play some football.
